Community Guidelines

Our commitment

Matchd exists to help pickleball players find good games and good people to play with. Keeping the community safe and welcoming is essential to that. This page explains the standards we expect of everyone who uses Matchd, the tools you have to protect yourself, and exactly how we respond when something goes wrong.

Expected conduct

By using Matchd, you agree to treat other players with respect. When you create a profile, join or host games, or message other players, you agree not to:

We have zero tolerance for content that sexualizes minors, incites violence, or targets people based on who they are. Accounts engaging in this conduct are removed immediately.

Tools you can use right now

Every Matchd account has built-in tools to control your own experience without waiting on us:

How to report someone

To report a player, open their profile and choose Report. Reports are private — the person you report is not told who reported them. We review the player's profile, activity, and relevant history when deciding what action to take.

If you ever feel you are in immediate physical danger, contact local emergency services first. Matchd is not a substitute for law enforcement.

How we respond to reports

Every report reaches our moderation team in real time. Here is what happens next:

Our enforcement ladder, from least to most severe: a warning for minor or first-time issues; content removal of the offending message or profile detail; temporary suspension of the account; and permanent removal from Matchd for serious or repeated violations. Severe violations — threats, sexual content involving minors, or conduct that endangers physical safety — skip straight to permanent removal.

Appeals

If your account is suspended or removed and you believe it was a mistake, you can appeal by emailing [email protected] from the email address on your account. We will review the appeal and respond. Our decisions on serious safety violations are final.

Objectionable content & abusive users

Matchd does not tolerate objectionable content or abusive behavior. We act on reported content within the timeframe above and remove users who violate these guidelines. We may also remove content or accounts proactively where we identify a violation, without a report.

Changes to these guidelines

We may update these guidelines as Matchd grows. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated to users where appropriate.
